With Spring around the corner, as the weather warms up, it's essential to start a skincare routine or adjust your current skincare routine to ensure your skin stays balanced and hydrated.

This is the perfect opportunity to refresh your regime, learn about new ingredients, hear about some of my favorite products and recommendations, and embrace a healthy, radiant complexion. The key is to know your skin needs, not just what's popular or trending. Sure, it may work for you, but I want you to understand why it may or may not deserve its buzz, hype, and worthy status.
As a skincare professional and lover, I know how important it is to care for my skin and body this time of year. In this post, I'll share my tips and tricks for achieving a springtime glow that will also turn heads for you. We don't gatekeep around these parts!

Protect Your Skin from the Sun

  • As the weather gets warmer, protecting your skin from harmful UV rays is vital. Wear sunscreen with at least SPF 30 daily, even on cloudy days. You should also wear protective clothing and accessories like hats and sunglasses to shield your skin from the sun.
  • Exfoliating your skin can help remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, which can help prevent breakouts and improve skin texture. However, be careful not to over-exfoliate, as this can damage your skin. Aim to exfoliate once or twice a week using a gentle scrub or chemical exfoliant.
  • Hydrating your skin is essential for maintaining a healthy, glowing complexion. Use a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type and apply it regularly to keep your skin hydrated and supple. You can also use a hydrating serum or facial oil to boost your skin's hydration levels.
  • Eating a healthy diet can positively impact your skin's health. Make sure to include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet, as these are rich in vitamins and antioxidants that can help protect your skin from damage. It would help to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.

In addition, I love going for bike rides, weightlifting, and pole dancing classes to stay active and energized.

For those of you that need a little assistance, I got you! Here is a skincare routine to help you start your skincare journey. You will be customizing and giving out advice in no time!

Step 1: Cleanse The first step in any skincare routine is cleansing. During the springtime, I recommend using a gentle cleanser that will effectively remove dirt and impurities without stripping the skin of its natural oils. Look for a cleaner with hydrating ingredients like aloe vera or hyaluronic acid to keep your skin fresh and moisturized.

Step 2: Exfoliation is crucial in achieving a bright, even complexion. I recommend exfoliating 2-3 times a week using a chemical exfoliant. This will help remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover, leaving your skin fresh and renewed. However, be careful not to over-exfoliate, as this can lead to irritation and sensitivity.

Step 3: Tone After cleansing and exfoliating, apply a toner to balance your skin's pH and help it better absorb your skincare products. Look for a toner with ingredients like rice water, sake essence, rosewater, or aloe vera.

Step 4: Serum Next, apply a serum to address skin concerns like fine lines, dark spots, or acne. Look for a serum with vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, or niacinamide.

Step 5: Moisturize. Apply a moisturizer to hydrate your skin and lock in the serum. Choose a moisturizer that suits your skin type, whether oily, dry, or combination. Look for moisturizers with ingredients like ceramides, shea butter, or glycerin.

Step 6: Face Oil Once a day, apply a face oil to nourish your skin and lock in moisture. Face oils are especially beneficial for those with dry or mature skin. Look for face oils with ingredients like argan oil, rosehip oil, or jojoba oil. Always use Goddes Elixir. 

Step 7: Sunscreen Finally, apply sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and reapply every two hours if you spend time outdoors.

Step 8: Acid Peel Every two weeks, incorporate a skin-cycling acid peel into your routine to promote cell turnover and improve skin texture. Look for a peel with glycolic, salicylic, or lactic acid. Apply the peel to clean, dry skin and leave it on for the recommended time before rinsing with water.
